Simon blakey

Simon Blakey is a leading authority on the European energy industry. Mr Blakey was the founder of the European natural gas and power research practices at CERA (Cambridge Energy Research Associates, now IHS Markit) in which he was engaged for almost 20 years from 1989. During this time he undertook more than 100 research and consulting assignments that covered a broad range of strategic issues for energy companies worldwide, especially those active in the natural gas business in Europe.

From September 2010 through June 2014 Mr Blakey acted as Special Envoy for EUROGAS, the association of European gas companies.

Before joining IHS CERA, Mr Blakey was Special Assistant to the Executive Director (Head of the Private Office) at the International Energy Agency in Paris. He previously also worked for BP and for the ADL energy group.

He holds an MA from Cambridge University.
