Mare Straetmans

Mare Straetmans has been passionate for innovation in the sectors of maritime, energy and ports for more than a decade and focuses on making impact with entrepreneurship in the maritime and energy space.
He is currently the founder of the Platform Zero Climate Tech Campus in Rotterdam and Lisbon, where technology ventures are being scaled in the domains of hydrogen, maritime decarbonisation, renewable energy and ocean health.
In the past he has been responsible for setting up both the Ocean Health business unit and the Digital Transformation at Van Oord, setting up innovation at the Port of Rotterdam Authority and setting up a maritime ventures fund.
Mare also was the founder and managing director of PortXL, the first maritime startup accelerator worldwide, scaling the organization from Rotterdam to Singapore and Antwerp.
